Frequently Asked Questions
Do you see children?
Yes! At Accent Family Dentistry, we live up to our name – patients of all ages are welcome here, and our team has experience treating smiles at every stage of life. Our children’s dentistry services include quality preventive services like fluoride and dental sealants, comprehensive exams, gentle restorative care, and more.
Which tooth replacement option is right for me?
Dr. Brenda Gong provides a comprehensive variety of dental services here in Angier, and that includes several reconstructive services for rebuilding an incomplete smile. In most cases, she strongly recommends dental implants as the ideal option – this treatment is designed to replicate your natural tooth as seamlessly as possible, providing valuable benefits for both the patient’s health and their appearance. However, the cost and time commitment associated with dental implants is not ideal in some cases. Dentures and dental bridges are also available at our office as more traditional solutions.
It’s important to remember that no one service is the perfect choice for every patient. At your first appointment, our team will be happy to sit down with you and discuss your oral health and personal goals in greater detail so that we recommend the option that best fits you.
Will I need to go to another doctor to have my dental implants placed?
No. Dr. Gong offers both dental implant placement and restoration right here in-office, which simplifies your care and saves you from having to make a time-consuming outside trip to a specialist. Our goal is to assist you in regaining your complete, strong smile from beginning to end!
Can you help me straighten my teeth?
Yes. Dr. Gong’s available services include several orthodontic options, such as traditional metal braces for children and adults and subtler alternatives like Invisalign and six Month Smiles for image-conscious patients. Our recommendation for your case will depend on the severity of your orthodontic concerns, your level of time commitment, and other factors.
Dental care makes me nervous. How can I relax?
Helping patients feel calm and comfortable during their appointments is an important goal for our team. That’s why we offer sedation dentistry. Nitrous oxide (“laughing gas”) is a mild sedative that’s ideal for taking the edge off negative emotions, while conscious IV sedation is a more advanced technique that can benefit patients with extreme anxiety or those who are in need of multiple, complex procedures. We will be glad to help you determine the best choice for you during your initial visit at our Angier, NC practice.
I have bad headaches and pain in my jaw. Can a dentist help?
Possibly. These are common signs of bruxism (teeth grinding) or TMJ disorder, which can be treated by a dentist. Dr. Gong will be sure to investigate your symptoms fully during an appointment at our practice, and several therapy options are available to provide the relief you need from constant discomfort, including customized occlusal splints and treatment with relaxing TENS technology.
Will you take my insurance?
Accent Family Dentistry accepts several major PPO insurance plans. To learn more, please visit our new patients page.
